Celebrating the Women of St. James

Mother Kate reflects on the women in our lives during Women's History Month.

Capital Campaign Gifts

Continuing this Sunday, capital campaign committee members will be available in the church offices after the 8 and 10:30 services to discuss your individual capital campaign contributions with you. We are very much hoping for 100% participation from the congregation so please remember to swing upstairs for this brief conversation on one of the Sundays in March.

Two Views of the Cross

How did Christ’s death save us? Did Christ’s death save us? The Church has wrestled with these questions for over two thousand years. Join us Tuesday evenings in Lent at 7:00 PM as we read Frederica Mathewes-Green’s Two Views of the Cross - a thought-provoking book looking at Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, and how they relate to our salvation.

Classes continue on Tuesdays. To register, please email Father Jon at jfeuss@stjla.org.

One Hundred Years Later... Our four wonderful new statues have arrived and are set to be installed in their new niche homes in February. In the meantime, they are spending time with us in the sanctuary! (Below, see our statue of Bishop Barbara Harris, the first woman and woman of color to be consecrated bishop in the Anglican Communion). And the glorious new crown for our bell tower, designed by Rhett Judice, is shipping this week. Welcome to Our New Vestry Members Congratulations to our new...

Gift Card Scams There seems to be a considerable uptick in gift card scams. No one from St. James will ever email you saying we’re in a meeting but need you to go get us some gift cards. Please report emails like this as spam. Vestry Slate Thank you to Jean Dillingham, Cathy Helm, Bright Onyenwe, Sandra Spencer, SaraJane Thies, and Marsha Vargas for stepping forward to be on the Vestry slate this year. Please take the time to read about our candidates for the Vestry Class of 2029 here. Since...
